Modular in design and based on simple, flashlamp pumped Solid-state source, the PAL™ laser system is extremely reliable as well versatile. It's actually simpler than the fixed wavelength lasers used to pump other tunable laser sources. It is extremely low-maintenance. Nearly all of the PAL™ laser systems sold since 1989 are still in productive operation today, as are most of the OEM laser systems from Light Age. Based on alexandrite (Cr±:BeAl2O4), the most robust, tunable solid-state laser medium, the PAL™ laser system can tune continuously or operate at any fixed wavelength. The PAL™ laser system produces light at high peak and average power across fundamental wavelength range between 720 and 800 nm.
Efficient nonlinear frequency conversion processes provide complete spectral coverage from the VUV to the deep IR. Second, third and fourth harmonic generators provide light in the 360-400 nm, 240-270 nm, and 190-200 nm wavelength ranges, respectively. All other wavelengths through out the UV, visible, and IR are readily addressed through Light Age's patented high power Raman Convertor accessories.

The PAL™ laser system is specifically designed for medical and industrial application development and for scientific research. Its amazing versatility has been put to use in hundreds of fields including: dentistry, dermatology, cardiology, lithotripsy, photodynamic therapy, materials processing, nondestructive testing, lithography, writing of fiber gratings, spectroscopy, photochemistry, holography, LIDAR, and fabrication of carbon nanotubes.
Its unique plug-in modularity brings this versatility into a simple reality. The PAL™ laser system provides more capabilities at more wavelengths than any other light source. Now, no longer must your laser's limitations limit your research, your application's development, or your laser based products.
PAL™ laser systems have high pulse energies and high average power capabilities, selectable pulse duration and variable pulse formats. They also provide broad spectral coverage with an unprecedented range of spectral bandwidths (from several nanometers down to only a few femtometers), as well as other performance features that surpass dye, Nd:YAG, and most other tunable and fixed-wavelength solid-state lasers. PAL™ laser systems, and Light Age custom OEM laser systems derived from patented PAL™ technology, have become application-enabling light tools used throughout the world. They routinely perform tasks that were previously "impossible".
